"I am glad to commend the Africa Center for Apologetics Research. John Divito has been wonderfully prepared by God to head up such a ministry. His own testimony coupled with his understanding of and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ will enable him to serve the church in Africa very well. This ministry is worthy of support by American churches who want Jesus Christ to be known and loved among all the nations."
Tom Ascol Senior Pastor, Grace Baptist Church, Cape Coral, FL Executive Director, Founders Ministries

"I have known John Divito and his family for several years now in our relation through Southern Seminary and local church life together. He is a highly gifted man, with powerful gifts of analysis and teaching, with deep motivation for service to Christ and preserving gospel purity. His particular calling in helping indigenous pastors and churches resist the invasion of the cults and consequent gospel corruption fits his abilities and his background wonderfully. I commend him, his family, and his labor to the churches for he is giving himself to do an urgent Great Commission task, 'teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you.'"

"I am very pleased to recommend the ministry of John Divito. The Lord supernaturally opened John's eyes to the errors of Mormonism when he was called out of darkness into God's marvelous light during his college years. Now the Lord has equipped and prepared John to proclaim the good news of the gospel and to resist teachings that are false and destructive. Unfortunately, cults are growing at a rapid pace in East Africa. We need men like John who are theologically knowledgeable and who have a passion for the gospel. John is a humble and committed man. I pray that the Lord will work in and through his ministry in Africa, and recommend that you lend your support to this crucial ministry."

"I have known John Divito as a friend and co-laborer for several years. He has graciously volunteered a great deal of time to help with my personal website and for his help I will always be in his debt. Our relationship is rooted, however, in the fact of John's commitment to the 1689 Baptist Confession. While I was at Southern Seminary I was told of a dear brother who held thoroughly to this beloved and historic confession. I was delighted to find that John Divito was this brother! I believe he is sound in doctrine and would be a faithful laborer for the truth. His heart for the defense of the faith is to be commended. My prayer is that God would richly bless his labors."

"The church in Uganda has been preoccupied with dealing with many other issues, and there has not been a sustained effort in addressing the issue of cults. A center like ACFAR will really help bring the issue of cults to the forefront and provide the resources to help church leaders, as well as students in colleges and Universities (who are such a target of cults because of their strategic nature), in dealing with doctrinal error. Personally I am really excited about this opportunity that I believe God is going to use to strengthen the church in Uganda."

"The establishment of a Center for Apologetics in the East African region is long overdue. For a long time we have contended with false teaching through diverse religions, most of them from the west - and especially from America. We at Kampala Evangelical School of Theology (KEST) are pleased to host this center in partnership with the Centers for Apologetics and Research. This partnership saves us from reinventing the wheel, since after all most of the controversial religions originate from America. Having said that, we are well aware of Africa's own traditional religions and superstitions, which find their way into Christian practice. This syncretistic element has often caused the dilution of the Christian hope. There is a resumption of deep cultural aspects that are of a cultic nature. We hope to undertake research in these, given that fact that very little documented research has been done on what one can term as African cults.
"John Divito and his family will join us soon, once sufficient support has been secured, to take up a chair of apologetics at Kampala Evangelical School of Theology. East Africa is a place with an explosion of Christian revival. This opportunity presents both a blessing and a challenge, largely because an increase in the Christian population has overrun the capacity of the church to offer professional and well-informed pastoral service and care. This makes the opening of an African Center for Apologetics a great opportunity and relief to Christian mission in the region. We look forward with excitement and great anticipation for this opportunity, which will advance authentic preaching and pastoral service, including church planting, in East Africa."
Rev. Dr. Solomon B. Nkesiga Principal, Kampala Evangelical School of Theology
